The 40's and the boring fashion

There was no decade less attractive for fashion than 1940's. It was the years of World War II and artistic stagnation. Hard years when people only thought of surviving and their only job was to make weapons.
Perhaps the fact that women had to work was what started the so-called utilitarian fashion. It was a uniformed fashion, very defined and above all with military influences.
The fabrics were poor, the cuts straight, the colors flat. Only the pin-up girls or queens of the burlesque were the ones who gave the touch of color, quite naughty for the time when they needed above all to raise the morale.

Nevertheless it was the time of Golden Hollywood, great and handsome and pretty actors and actresses who got that we love films, and dream with them. There is no better time in the history of Hollywood than the 40's. Musicals, Noir cinema, gangsters and detectives, Existentialist dramas. Golden Dreams in the worst moment of the Human History.

But that boring and straight fashion started changing when Christian Dior showed his new designs. It happened in Paris in 1947. Suddenly he decided to look at the past, and create designs based on 19th century dresses. Wide skirts with flight that meant the beginning of New Era, or maybe another way to enslave.
