House Beautiful 1950's

Mid-Century interior design is one of the modern and really contemporary style in the last century. It is characterized by the use of organic elements, clear and minimal arquitecture, and powerful scheme of color and furniture.

But Mid-Century style would'n exist without the American Lifestyle and the born of IKEA in Sweden. After II World War both countries, compared to others, enjoyed a new positive vision of the world, and the 50's were considered the Happy Time.

So they started the new Suburban Era and the Construction of Suburban Houses not to far from the cities, but far enough to enjoy a quiet environment and rise children.

Even we though 1950's were about pollution, the grow of population and the whole America looking its belly button, The House Beautiful magazine shows how some architects try to minimize the gas emission with the new Climate Control features. 

If it is not modern, what is modern then? Modernity isn't in our wardrobe, it is in our minds.
