Valentino Fall 2016

I consider Valentino one of the most artistic haute couture ateliers. Why? Visually talking is so stunning.

The house of Valentino knows how to combine elegance, fashion history and design principles. Maybe because they work in Rome, near the Vatican, and they receive every day a lesson about history through the eyes. You don't need to be an expert in History, Rome tells everything if you know how to look.

For the Fall 2016 collection, the designers decide to take Elizabethan theme for the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, in combination with the robes of renaissance catholic priests. That's why we see all high white ruffs, doublets, bodices, puffed sleeves, and clerical robes.
